Soundwave Legacy drops their debut visual – Stone

The “Stone” video was a concept cooked up by award winning film director and actor Tristan Heanue . Early in 2016 just after Soundwave Legacy Vol.1 dropped we would meet for coffee and discuss how the video could possibly look.

He pitched his vision and slowly started to paint a picture sending me some mood boards (Reference pictures) of old TV sets, black and white close-up’s of the band and newspaper clippings pasted across the wall. Basically a pure performance piece that retains simplicity but delivers energy.

Another interesting concept was keeping the band shots in a separate place than mine. That sprouted after a conversation I had with him were he asked me “What does that verse truly signify”. I thought for a second and answered ” A type of metamorphosis, breaking through a barrier. Becoming hard like stone, leaving everything negative behind and realizing my true potential as an artist.”

From that point on the concept was born. The idea? – A shell of a man who has had enough of negative bullshit cooked up in a dungeon-like room filled with media propaganda and brainwash-boxes, ready to explode.

The idea had nearly faded after a few months due to busy careers when Ray Kennernay from our favorite online source for new music The Sound Feed  saved the day. He purposed he’d like to shoot a video for us (Which was originally going to be “Jim Kelly”) but after some thought it was a no-brainer to call up Tristan to see could we revive the old ideas and make this happen.
